Sale & Exit Strategies

This service is for owner managers who are keen to realise (unlock) all or some of the value they have created in the business they founded.

Valuations

There are no real certainties in business valuations it is down to "a willing buyer, willing to pay a willing seller". There are several key value drivers to consider when valuing a business:

Key Value Drivers
Value Enhancers
Value Depressants
Profit

Predictable and rising
Beating budget/last years' profits most months

Erratic and falling
Missing budget/last years' profits most months

Prospects

Significant recurring contracted revenue
Pipeline of new contracts

Dependant on future orders with little visibility of sources

People

Capable senior managers in most key areas

Limited capability below major shareholders

Problems (legal, tax, commercial etc)

Unlikely to improve value but addressed and resolved so that uncertainty is removed

Can be deal breakers if problems are not resolved and are difficult to quantify e.g. dilapidations, taxes
